 Most businesses already know how important their data is, and most at least try to backup their essential business data.  That is a great start, and routine backups stored onsite provide recovery options to handle accidental file loss, data loss due to virus, hackers, and hardware failure. Those backup and recovery plans fall short in one key area - what happens in the case of a disaster. 

To prepare for a natural disaster such as an office fire or an earthquake, there needs to be advance planning.  The data must have been moved offsite before the disaster struck.  Once it's been moved offsite, either by somebody physically moving the data to a secure location or by transferring the data offsite via a secure Internet connection.  

We take Disaster Recovery Planning very seriously.  Unfortunately, without sufficient disaster recovery in place, a business runs the risk of being destroyed right along with it's data.  It's a more active form of Insurance, and a necessary one.
